Who we are

We are a non-profit seeking organisation assembled for the sole purpose of pursuing a satisfactory outcome for consumers of Volkswagen's diesel vehicles equipped with the widely publicised ‘defeat device’ software. As the Consumers Lead Emissions Accountability Network (CLEAN), we are fortunate to draw on some of the best legal minds globally, all with a single vision. The CLEAN Foundation represents both individuals and organisations who have purchased or leased Volkswagen’s diesel vehicles with ‘defeat device’ software, as well as those communities experiencing increased pollution levels attributable to the same problem.

Mission statement

As advocates for equality, CLEAN Foundation believes, first and foremost, in fairness. Volkswagen’s manipulation of diesel vehicle emission systems and fabrication of better-than-possible performance statistics has meant that consumers were treated unfairly and were unable to make informed decisions. We seek to correct this imbalance by inviting everyone who has been affected by Volkswagen’s diesel ‘defeat devices’ to register with us, free of charge. With your help, and by working together, we will offer a way to pursue a satisfactory resolution.
